In The Black (tm) Credit Switch

In The Black ™ Credit Switch Software provides integrated card transaction processing which helps reduce data re-entry at the POS and facilitates easier reporting and transaction reconciliation at day and month end.

This fast secure transaction processing system leverages sophisticated technology and security features to offer retailers a broad range of functions from basic debit, credit and gift card payment acceptance to advanced capabilities such as electronic signature capture, multimedia branding, contactless payments and smart card acceptance.

Certified in both Canada and the US with a variety of payment processors such as Chase Paymentech, FDMS and Global Payments, this solution eliminates the need for card payment terminals or third-party software, helping reduce costs and ensuring fast, efficient and secure payment processing.

Security for credit card information with handling is based on the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Payment Application Best Practices (PABP) guidelines.

In keeping with our philosophy of always available, ITB Credit Switch employs 3 levels of fallback operation including automatic and seamless switchover to Dialup in the event of a network failure - all without operator intervention.

In addition, we support check authorization with TeleCheck, Certigy and EquiFax including ECA, (Electronic Check Authorization). The sale and redemption of 3rd party Gift Cards is managed quickly and securely for a wide variety of suppliers.

Add new customer data quickly and easily with "Reverse Append" technology. Simply enter the customer's phone number and our system populated all available data through connections to Targus Info and Acxiom.

Best of all, In The Black (tm) Credit Switch software comes included with our In The Black™ Retail Suite at NO additional cost. No 3rd party license or processing fees.

Integrated Mode

With this option, Millenium's In the Black ™ Credit Switch software controls the pin pad and signature capture operation and communicates to the POS client software. A provided API is used by the POS application to request authorization and display transaction totals for customer convenience. Printing of receipts is handled on the existing POS terminal.

Stand-beside Mode

In this mode, the Millenium credit switch software controls the Pin Pads and authorization receipt printing. Once a Pin Pad session is initiated the Millenium controller will capture the credit or debit card information and use this to build the authorization message to send onto the payment processor.

New York and Company (formerly Lerner New York) started the relationship with Dave Mears and Angelo Kalpakis at MRS in 1998.

Our first experience with MRS was to have them assist us in a code sync of the source code and executable modules to insure we had a valid platform to build upon. In addition, they assisted us with the Y2K validation and code changes.

The quick response from Dave Mears, and his professionalism in evaluating the environment, made it an easy decision to switch providers for our POS needs. Due to his and Angelo's commitment, the transition process went very smoothly.

Since 1998, New York and Company (Lerner New York), have implemented over 10 releases of POS software in more than 500 stores nationwide. With each upgrade, we have partnered with MRS to implement enhancements that allowed the business to streamline processes, add value and improve performance. All of these enhancements enable our store associates to minimize the turnaround time at the wrap desk, and concentrate on the customer.

Some of the enhancements have been: Implementation of Gift Receipts, Implementation of Gift Cards, Replenishment of back stock to the sales floor, Improvements to the Credit Card authorization turnaround (multithreading via dial up) and Performance improvements to the closing process.

Dave and Angelo continue to be extremely responsive to our POS software requests, and have managed to help us achieve several goals we originally thought impossible, given the age of our hardware, as well as our outdated operating systems. We receive constant support on issues, as well as an experienced perspective for fixes and enhancements. All these things combined have allowed us to stretch the life of our hardware by enabling us to implement much needed improvements in our stores.
